St Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum)

St Johns Wort is a hardy woodland perennial. It can grow to 1m/3ft high with small star-shaped flowers from mid to late summer. Prefers light, moist but well-drained soil but can tolerate dry soil. Can grow in semi-shade (light woodland) or full sun. Flowers better in full sun.

It is used medicinally in the treatment of depression. Used as a lotion it is also thought to speed up the healing of wounds and mild burns. Always seek professional advice before using medicinally. Yellow and brown dye can also be obtained from the flowers and leaves.

All of our plant are organically grown.
