Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum)

£3.50£9.50

Southernwood is a woody-stemmed herb with finely divided, strongly scented leaves growing to about 1m high and wide. Can be used as a small hedging plant. The whole plant is an insect repellent – and is reportedly a good companion plant for cabbages for reducing levels of insect pests. The dried leaves can be used to deter clothes moths, and shoots can be burned as incense. An infusion of the leaves can be used as a wash to cleanse the skin and as a hair conditioner. Always seek professional advice before using a herb medicinally
