Mat-forming, evergreen perennial with aromatic, finely-divided leaves and yellow and white flowers throughout the summer. Reaches 15cm/6inches high. Prefers light, well-drained soil and full sun.
Best known as use as an herbal tea, the flowers can be gathered in summer and dried. They last for about a year. Used medicinally, chamomile is used to promote relaxation, and as an aid for digestive problems. It is thought to be anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
