Roman Chamomile (Anthemis nobilis/Chamaemelum nobile)

Mat-forming, evergreen perennial with aromatic, finely-divided leaves and yellow and white flowers throughout the summer.  Reaches 15cm/6inches high.  Prefers light, well-drained soil and full sun. 

Best known as use as an herbal tea, the flowers can be gathered in summer and dried.  They last for about a year.  Used medicinally, chamomile is used to promote relaxation, and as an aid for digestive problems.  It is thought to be anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
