Gypsywort (Lycopus europaeus)

Also known as Bugleweed or Water Horehound.

Perennial herb reaching about 1m high and preferring damp places and beside fresh water – streams, rivers, canals etc.

Used medicinally, the plant is harvested as flowering begins.  It can be used fresh or dried as an infusion or tincture.  Used for a variety of ailments and leaves can also be used as a poultice to cleanse wounds.
