A low-growing perennial, medicinal herb. It has been used for many centuries as a treatment for such ailments as fatigue, arthritis, stomach problems, respiratory ailments, poor memory, asthma and fevers. It can also aid circulation and wound and bone healing. In Ayurvedic medicine it is known for its ability to enhance brain function.
Gotu Kola grows well anywhere that is not too dry. Keep well watered. Can thrive as a ground cover in shady areas.
Leaves can be used as an infusion – especially with other herbs such as tulsi. Leaves can be eaten raw or used in cooking as other edible greens.
