FREE DELIVERY ON BULBS! These onions emerge in spring and can grow up to 3 feet tall. They are top setting, meaning that once flowered they will produce a set of small onions on the top of their leaves. Then another leaf may grow from this set allowing another set to form on top of these. It will eventually become so heavy that the clusters are pulled down to the ground where they will take root and 'walk'. All parts of this onion are edible. They are extremely hardy, can tolerate cold, heat and poor soils and are resistant to disease and pests. You can harvest the small onion produced underground or you can leave it to create offsets. Once you have one of these, you'll never need to buy any more as it produces a large amount of bulbils which you can then plant for next year. They can be planted any time from earliest spring just as long as the ground isn't frozen. Plant 2 inches deep directly in the ground, 6 to 10 inches apart.
