Black Horehound (Ballota nigra)

Perennial herb. Flowers May-August. Can reach 3ft tall. Extremely resilient herb. Prefers moist, nutritionally poor, well-drained alkaline soil.

Used medicinally to relieve nausea and vomiting. Dried flowers and leaves can be used as a tea and are often combined with chamomile or meadowsweet. Herb should be gathered as plant begins to bloom in summer.
